Hostway Auto-Renew is a free service, accessible via the “Auto-Renew Status” link in the Domain Name section of SiteControl, that will automatically renew any domain name* 30 days before the expiration date.

Please note the following:
- This feature is only available to customers with payment type set to credit card.
- If your domain is auto-renewed, then your account will be charged the current 1 year renewal price for the domain name. At the current time, we are NOT able to offer auto-renew terms of longer than 1 yr.
- Customers can still renew their domains at any time, for periods of 1,2,3,5, or 10 years in most cases. Please contact our Support Team as normal to effect longer renewal terms.
- The main exception to the auto-renewal programme is the .co.uk extension which cannot be auto-renewed. Also, only domains under the juristiction of the DomainPeople or AAAQ Hostway registries will function under the Auto-Renewal programme. If you own domains that sit under other registries' control, it is possible to transfer them to DomainPeople/Hostway. Please contact our Support Team.
- A number of checks are performed on your account prior to auto-renewal (30 days prior to expiration of a domain), and to enable to process to go smoothly, you need to ensure that:

Your payment method is set to credit card
- The credit card is valid, and accurate
- You have ticked the auto-renew status box
If any of these checks fail then the domain name will NOT be auto-renewed, instead you will be notified via email.
- Auto-Renew is automatically enabled for ALL NEW domain names registered. Domain Names registered historically can be set by customers manually to auto-renew if they are within the DomainPeople or AAAQ registries.
- You can opt out of the scheme easily by unticking the “Auto-Renew Status” check-box in the Domain Names section of SiteControl. If auto-renew is NOT enabled for a given domain name, it will automatically follow the standard renewal process: you will be sent renewal reminders at the following intervals: 60 days, 30 days, 14 days, 7 days, 1 day, 0 day.
